Support Groups

You Don’t Have to Navigate It Alone
Sometimes, knowing you’re not the only one going through something can make all the difference.
At Arizona Connection Counseling, our support groups provide a safe, welcoming space to connect with others, share experiences, learn practical coping skills, and feel supported by a trained mental health professional. Each group is designed around a specific need or stage of life, allowing participants to build connections while developing tools they can use beyond the group.
Our groups are intentionally kept small when possible so participants have opportunities to feel seen, heard, and supported.
Current Support Groups
Don’t Feed the Monsters
Tween Support Group for Girls Ages 10–13.
Sometimes the biggest “monsters” aren’t under the bed—they’re the ones that show up in our thoughts and feelings.
Don’t Feed the Monsters is a fun, supportive group for girls ages 10–13 who may be navigating anxiety, self-doubt, negative self-talk, anger, or big emotions.
Through engaging activities and group connection, girls will learn to recognize the things that “feed” their monsters and discover healthier ways to respond. The group focuses on building confidence, strengthening self-esteem, managing emotions, challenging negative self-talk, and developing healthy coping skills.
This is a welcoming space where girls can connect with peers, build confidence, and learn that they don’t have to face difficult emotions alone.
Group Details:
Closed group with limited enrollment
Maximum of 8 girls

Grief & Loss Support Group
Grief can feel overwhelming, confusing, and isolating – but you don’t have to go through it alone.
Our Grief & Loss Support Group provides a safe, compassionate, therapist-led environment where participants can process their experiences, connect with others who understand, and begin navigating life after loss.
Group participants will have opportunities to share and reflect, learn about common misconceptions surrounding grief, develop coping and emotional support strategies, and connect with others who understand the unique challenges of loss.
We recognize that grief is not linear, and there is no single “right” way to grieve. Whether your loss is recent or happened years ago, your experience matters.

Teen Eating Disorder Support Group
When a teen is struggling with food, body image, or an eating disorder, it can be difficult to feel understood—especially when it seems like everyone else is going through the normal ups and downs of adolescence.
Our Teen Eating Disorder Support Group provides a supportive environment where teens can connect with peers who understand similar challenges while developing healthier ways to cope with thoughts, emotions, and behaviors related to food and body image.
The group focuses on connection, support, self-awareness, and practical skills that can help teens move toward a healthier relationship with themselves.
Our goal is not simply to focus on food. We recognize that eating concerns can be connected to emotions, self-worth, anxiety, stress, relationships, and other challenges teens may be experiencing.

Why Consider a Support Group?
Individual therapy can be incredibly valuable, but there are times when being with people who understand what you’re experiencing can provide something different.
Support groups can offer opportunities to:
Feel less alone. Connect with others who have faced similar experiences.
Build practical skills. Learn coping strategies and tools you can practice in everyday life.
Develop confidence. Gain a better understanding of yourself and your strengths.
Practice connection. Build communication, emotional regulation, and relationship skills in a supportive environment.
Learn from others. Hearing different perspectives can help you recognize that there isn’t only one way forward.
